BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 33% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: A lot has been said of Joey Gallo since his impressive debut on June 2nd. But apparently not enough, since he's not close to being owned in enough leagues yet. Gallo is not without warts - he has 10 strikeouts in just 16 ABs and notched a golden sombrero with four punchouts in 4 ABs on Friday night. He's going to swing, a lot. He's going to miss a lot too. But when he connects, he is going to hit for a ton of power, that's why you own him, or why you should pick him up.
Gallo should be owned across the board, in all leagues. He might be thrown back to the waiver wire pool just as fast in a week or two, but while he's flashing this type of power you can't pass up on that potential. Aside from hitting home runs in back-to-back games to kick off his MLB debut, Gallo was tattooing minor league pitching before he arrived with the Rangers. He had 9 HR, 31 RBI, and owned a ridiculous .636 SLG% in 146 Double-A ABs. There are few, if any, players in the Minors, or on your league's waiver wire who possess that kind of power.
Gallo will have trouble vs. LHP, so he's best suited for leagues where you can adjust your lineup on a daily basis. Do yourself a favor and if Gallo is available in your league for some reason pick him up and ride his power for as long as it lasts.
