BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 33% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Back in 2015 and 2016, yours truly was high on Joe Ross's potential, but a few years in the wilderness combined with him having opted out of the 2020 season had him completely off of even my radar entering this year. The former first-round pick has put himself back in the conversation for fantasy managers with a strong comeback year. He owns respectable ratios (4.02 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) and has struck out 80 batters in 80.2 innings. Those ratios are also inflated by a couple of disastrous outings earlier in the season; fully half of the 36 earned runs he's surrendered came in those two games.
In his last five starts, Ross has three wins, a 3.56 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 33 strikeouts against just six walks. His next two starts are stiff tests against the Dodgers and Giants, but he'll get the Marlins and Orioles coming out of the break.
