BALLER MOVE: Add in 10+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 33% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: Joe Panik and his fantasy owners are really enjoying his second season in San Francisco. The 24-year-old is perhaps one of the more gifted second basemen in the majors, and he's got a .318/.384/.469 slash line in 56 games this season to prove it. Panik recently clubbed his fifth home run this season, and his 30 runs scored, 23 runs batted in marks are a few of the top marks among second basemen.
His BABIP is higher than the league average, but it's right in line with his own career average and he produces line drives at an above average rate, which points to it being sustainable. There's a lot to like about his production thus far and where he has improved from last season, which includes improving his walk rate, his ISO power and his HR/FB ratio. His normal position in the Giants lineup (second or third) - hitting just before or after the likes of Buster Posey, Hunter Pence and Brandon Belt - should give him ample run scoring and RBI opportunities, too. All in all, Panik has the ability to be an around .300 hitter with some pop, and he is someone you should pursue if he happens to be floating around in your leagues' waiver wire.
