Analysis: While Joe Panik may have cooled down a bit from his hot start to the season, he is still slugging .437 with five HR and three SB on the season. Panik is striking out more often this year, but he is walking more frequently and owns a greater HR percentage. An encouraging nugget of information lies in Panik's three stolen bases. Last season with an OBP of .378, Panik went three for five in SB attempts in 382 AB and ended the season with a 4.4 power/speed figure. In just 158 AB with a .330 OBP, Panik has converted all three SB attempts, and combined with his five HR, already has a power/speed figure of 3.8. It is important to note that Panik tends to perform better at the plate when outside of pitcher-friendly AT&T Park, slugging .477 in away games and having four of his five HR coming in those mere 65 AB on the road. Whether his BA has fallen a bit or not, Panik has upped his value with a new found frequency of base stealing.
