ANALYSIS: Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon has been a consistent yearly RB2 for fantasy players over the past several seasons. That remains the same in 2023, as the veteran is the RB14 for the year, averaging 12.5 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He has 153 rushing attempts for 605 yards and four touchdowns, plus 31 receptions for 188 receiving yards and a score this season.
Unfortunately, the Bengals won’t have Joe Burrow for the rest of the year because of a wrist injury. With Jake Browning taking over under center, Cincinnati will lean on Mixon and the run game. Last week, the former Oklahoma star had a massive workload in the loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He had 16 rushing attempts for 69 yards and five receptions for 31 receiving yards and a touchdown, scoring 18.5 fantasy points.
Meanwhile, Mixon faces the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend. They have given up 20.7 fantasy points per game to running backs, slightly above the league average. Furthermore, Pittsburgh has surrendered at least one rushing touchdown or 93 yards to running backs in all but one game this year. Expect Mixon to keep that trend alive.
