ANALYSIS: Perhaps people dropped him for a hotter option since Steve Smith Sr. went down with an injury, and it is noteworthy that most of Flacco's value against the Browns came from his legs (two rushing touchdowns). That said, he gets to face the San Francisco secondary that Eli Manning and the Giants just carved up on Sunday night. Some of that carving occurred with Odell Beckham, Rueben Randle, and obviously Victor Cruz out, which means that despite Flacco's lack of weapons, there should be a chance for him to do just fine. Justin Forsett's health needs to be monitored, but if he isn't 100% then Flacco will have to do even more of the heavy lifting.
Relying on Flacco in a Week 7 Monday night matchup against the Arizona Cardinals might not be pretty, but that game might call for a lot of desperation heaves and rally drives from Flacco late in a game where Baltimore will probably be trailing. Flacco is clearly hurting from his lack of weapons, and a lot of how you proceed with Flacco’s ownership relies on the recovery of Smith, Forsett, and Crockett Gillmore. Flacco’s completion rate of 54% in Week 5 isn’t going to get the job done, but his Weeks 2-4 average of about 65% is possible when he has talent around him. If you’ve got bye weeks blues hitting your quarterback needs, Flacco might be available going into this week. We’ve seen what he’s capable of, just hope that his fellow Ravens are also available for Joe to throw to.
