ANALYSIS: After allowing runs in four of five appearances during a rough patch in mid-May, it looked like Joakim Soria had lost his position as the preferred option for saves on the South Side. The veteran hasn't allowed a run in nine appearances since that iffy stretch, however, and has recorded three saves over the last five days. On the season, Soria boasts respectable ratios (3.42 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) to go with his seven saves, buoyed by a sparkling 22.5 K-BB%.
Nate Jones is still in the ninth-inning mix for Chicago - his four-run meltdown on Tuesday was the first time he had allowed any runs in nearly a month, although he allowed four runs in that appearance as well - but Soria appears to have the edge for now.
