BALLER MOVE: Add In Deeper Leagues
OWNED IN: 20% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Jerian Grant is now facing stiff competition from Kris Dunn for minutes at the point guard position in Chicago, but the 25-year-old is still making the most of his time on the floor. Now in his second season with the Bulls, Grant is seeing career highs in minutes, points, assists, and rebounds. Perhaps sensing the competition from Dunn, he’s stepped it up a bit in November, averaging seven assists and nearly five rebounds per game. Simply put, he’s managing to do a little bit of everything for the Bulls.
The aforementioned potential battle for playing time with Kris Dunn may be the biggest reason to avoid Grant at this point. Perhaps the adequate strategy for prospective onlookers would be to hold off until a decision is made one way or another. In recent games, Grant has remained the starter, but Dunn has seen more minutes. For those in deeper leagues and in real need of a point guard, Grant remains a viable option, however. Even if he were to be relegated to the bench, he can still be a solid contributor from the second unit. As he’s shown thus far this year, he can do a little but of everything. A secondary point guard who can average nearly five rebounds per game will always be attractive.
