BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 8% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The San Antonio Spurs are ludicrously bad. They probably don't mind that much considering what might be around the corner come to the Draft Lottery, but the truth is that watching them hurt your eyes nightly. That is, of course, unless you focus exclusively on rookie Jeremy Sochan.
The second coming of Rodman is here. Maybe. Sochan when through the (very) growing pains early in the season although the Spurs have just run with him all year long from the get-go. Cue the 48 starts in 51 games played with an average playing time of 26 MPG in his freshman season.
Sochan has an average of just 22 FPPG this year, but he's leveled up a ton of late averaging nearly 30 FPPG from Jan. 15 on. In fact, he's only dropped behind 20 FP in a single game just twice (min. 20 MP) in his last 13 outings with SAS.
In that 14-game span from mid-January through Friday, Sochan has scored at least 10 points in all but two games (he scored six in one of those and only played seven minutes in the other before leaving that one injured).
The rest of the stat line is not overly incredible but since returning from injury on Feb. 11, Sochan is contributing averages of 7+ RPG and 3+ APG while turning the ball over just 1.5 times per game. The usage rates have been on the rise too, going from an average of around 17% before Jan. 15 to 24% since, reaching 25%+ in five of his last 10 games.
