BALLER MOVE: Add In 12-Team Leagues (for efficient %)
OWNED IN: 37% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Jeremy Lamb seems to be in the same role as last season with the Hornets, and that’s certainly not a bad thing as 2017-18 was Lamb’s best season of his career. The 26-year-old will be competing for minutes with Nicolas Batum, Malik Monk and newcomer Miles Bridges, but he looks to have a 20+ minute role carved out for him.
While he has struggled to find his shot early on, shooting 33.3% from the field so far, Lamb should start knocking down more of his attempts as he shakes off the offseason rust. He is averaging 10.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 steals through his first three games of the year. He’s also knocked down 1.3 three’s per game and it looks like he will be challenged to shoot the deep ball more frequently than in past years. Lamb has yet to miss a free-throw thus far, and is a career 83.9% shooter from the charity strike.
Most of Lamb’s game revolves around his scoring ability, and while he lacks tremendous upside, he has a safe floor so long as his minutes are there. If you are in need of a wing player who won’t hurt your percentages and can knock down more than one three-pointer a night, Lamb is worth a flier, but it will be important to monitor his minutes. He currently sits at 37% ownership.
