BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 45% of leagues
ANALYSIS:
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Jeremy Hellickson is a hot fantasy target, as his ownership has jumped from 3% in Week 6. Weather prevented a two-start schedule last week, but that just means he is on the table for Week 9.
Since Hellickson has only gone more than six innings in one of his seven starts, he is only 1-0. While this is not particularly good, Hellickson has not allowed more than one earned run in his last four appearances and has struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games. A 2.13 ERA is unlikely to be sustained with a 83.9% strand rate and .245 BABIP, but there are reasons to be optimistic about Hellickson. His stellar control has led to him walking just six batters in 38 innings pitched.
He is on the road for both outings this week, first against the Orioles and then against the Braves. Hellickson is 1-0 with a 2.49 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 21 2/3 innings of work on the road.
