BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues
ANALYSIS: Jenrry Mejia picked up his first career save today, and should be added off the waiver wire in most leagues that count saves, becoming yet another in the recent list of saves sleepers for fantasy baseball. When Kyle Farnsworth was recently removed from the role and released, there was speculation that Jeurys Familia could see some save chances. Then manager Terry Collins said that Daisuke Matsuzaka or even the previously removed Jose Valverde could be in the mix, depending on the day and game situation. But today we saw who Collins really prefers to run with the job. Mejia has the talent to be a solid closer, but has had arm issues in the past so the Mets will be careful with him and may not use him in back to back games. This could potentially open up save opportunities for others, and is the only thing that prevents Mejia from being a must add off the waiver wire in fantasy leagues. He can certainly help though, and has a chance to make an impact for fantasy owners, especially only being 19% owned in Yahoo leagues right now.
