BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 6% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: Candelario, like all of Detroit's offense, is off to a slow start this season. However, as I'm writing this, he's 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI this afternoon. Candelario looks primed for an age-25 breakout, and you'll want to get him before anyone else does this season. He looked like he was ready for his breakout last season, but an early season wrist injury impacted him all year and eventually tanked his value heading into 2019.
His .224 average and 25.6% strikeout rate from last season seem out of character and were likely related to the injury, as evidenced by his high average and 17% strikeout rate throughout the minor leagues. Candelario has always displayed above average power and excellent plate discipline, which if he proves he can cut down on the strikeouts will make him a fine option at the corner infield spot in 12+ team leagues.
.270 with 25 home runs doesn't seem out of the question here, and a spot near the top of the batting order should help him post 75+ in each the RBI and runs category. Don't wait too long here.
