ANALYSIS: Murmurs out of Pittsburgh indicated that Jaylen Warren could see an uptick in usage following the Steelers' Week 9 bye. Warren saw 12 total opportunities while playing 43% of Pittsburgh's offensive snaps in their Week 10 win over the New Orleans Saints
The Steelers' undrafted free agent continues to impress and his increasing usage indicates that the Pittsburgh coaching staff has noticed.
Pittsburgh's incumbent starter, Najee Harris did put forth his best game of the year in Week 10, as he notched 99 rushing yards on 20 carries. However, Warren continues to cut into Harris' workload, especially in the passing game. The rookie out-targeted Harris 3-1 and snagged all three of his targets for 40 yards.
This situation continues to trend toward an actual 50/50 split, with Harris leading the way on the ground while Warren will likely be the preferred back on passing downs. This timeshare does limit the true upside of both players, but it does make Warren an intriguing fantasy prospect. He can be added and considered a FLEX option in deeper 12+ team leagues ahead of Week 11's clash with the Cincinnati Bengals.
