BALLER MOVE: Sit in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB3
ANALYSIS: Javonte Williams had a disappointing showing in what should've been a prime matchup against Carolina last week, but Bo Nix and the passing game ended up stealing the spotlight. This week doesn’t look much better, as he’s up against one of the league’s toughest run defenses in Baltimore.
The good news for Williams is that he's been a bell-cow of sorts in 2024, but the bad news is he hasn't been the most efficient with his touches. Williams ranks 18th in total running back touches with 117 on the season over eight games, and yet has just one Top 12 RB finish to his name.
This was almost one of the best plays of the week
Bo Nix, off of his back foot and on the run, throws a near-perfect pass to RB Javonte Williams who almost comes down with a fantastic snag. A better effort than some of their WRs#BroncosCountry @MileHighReport pic.twitter.com/MqA4X56VfN

Per Derek Brown of FantasyPros, Williams sits at RB32 in fantasy points per game, despite ranking 20th in snap share, 11th in weighted opportunities, and fourth in targets among running backs. He’s averaging 14.7 touches and 64.9 total yards, which isn’t bad, but he’s not breaking big plays--ranking 14th in missed tackles forced per attempt but only 35th in yards after contact.
Meanwhile, Baltimore has been a brick wall against the run, giving up the fewest rushing yards per game, the third-lowest explosive run rate, and the fourth-lowest missed tackle rate. This week's outlook doesn't look like a favorable one for fantasy.

Julius Chestnut - Week 9 Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Picks
BALLER MOVE: Sit POSITIONAL VALUE: RB4 (If He's The Lead Back) ANALYSIS: Legendary name, but unfortunately, not legendary player (we think). Tennessee Titans running back Julius Chestnut could see the lead role with second-string back Tyjae Spears (hamstring) expected to be unavailable for Week 9, and RB1 Tony Pollard (foot) a game-time decision. IF Julius […]
Emanuel Wilson - Week 9 Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Picks
BALLER MOVE: Sit POSITIONAL VALUE: RB5 ANALYSIS: Green Bay Packers running back Emanuel Wilson has seen even less work as an RB in recent weeks, and we've instead seen lead back Josh Jacobs (ankle) handle even more of a workload since Week 5. Rather than a committee, this is a backfield with a workhorse RB1 […]
Demarcus Robinson - Week 9 Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Picks
BALLER MOVE: Sit POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4 ANALYSIS: Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson had his best game of the season, catching two of his three targets for 35 yards and two touchdowns in his team's upset win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8. However, he's unlikely to score touchdowns in every game this […]
D'Ernest Johnson - Week 9 Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Picks
BALLER MOVE: Sit POSITIONAL VALUE: RB4 ANALYSIS: There was some value to having Jacksonville Jaguars running back D'Ernest Johnson on fantasy rosters, but with running back Tank Bigsby (ankle) "good to go" for Sunday's contest against the Philadelphia Eagles, that value may be gone. Johnson was the primary pass-catching back before, but that role could […]
