BALLER MOVE: Add in two-catcher leagues
OWNERSHIP: 4% in Fleaflicker leagues
ANALYSIS: The departure of Alex Avila (given the boot by his father, GM Al Avila) necessitated the signing of a backup to new starter James McCann. Saltalamacchia was added in the off-season after being dumped by the Marlins for his poor performance. "Salty" did not take well to the South Beach atmosphere, hitting .220 as the starter for the Marlins in 2014. He was at .069 after 29 AB last season before he was mercifully released.
With McCann on the shelf, Saltalamacchia gets a chance to redeem himself. He had some success during his time in the American League, particularly in Boston. Salty can provide some pop, although don't expect him to hit anything over .250. If you are in a two-catcher league or desperate for a replacement catcher, he can help you out for the next 2-4 weeks.
