BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues
ANALYSIS: Jarred Cosart is a real-deal kind of sleeper talent that is simply festering on an MLB team that barely gets any media, or fantasy baseball, attention. Heading into the 2014 campaign, the Astros former #1 pitching prospect showed some nice ability in his first cup of coffee in 2013, posting a 1.95 ERA and 1.35 WHIP over his first 60 innings pitched. Although he only struck out 33 batters in that span, the eyeball test tells us that this extremely hard bullet thrower is a naturally talented beast. He almost reminds us of a right handed, slightly more unpolished, Tony Cingrani. With a fastball that touches the high 90s, and the confidence of the Astros management behind him, this young buck may bud into a bonafide starting pitcher for H-Town’s finest. He pitched very well in his first start of the season at home against the Yankees, and he’s definitely worth a flier pickup off the waiver wire if you drafted a little short on starting pitching or are looking to add an arm to your fantasy baseball team.
