BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 24% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Analysis: Detroit Lions WR Jameson Williams was a non-factor in the team’s 28-13 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 14. Williams saw just one target he did not catch, and one carry that he took for four yards.
This comes after another low-volume outing when Williams caught his only target for 11 yards in the team’s Week 13 win against the Saints. He did however take a 19-yard rushing attempt for a touchdown to help the Lions beat New Orleans.
Now would be a decent time to take a flier on the second-year receiver from Alabama. Since Week 10, Williams has been playing around 60% of the team’s snaps and running routes on 67% of the offense’s passing plays.
It’s worth reminding ourselves that just one year ago Williams was this Detroit team’s first-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft. Williams has game-breaking speed running a 4.36-second 40-yard dash, and the Lions have shown flashes of utilizing him in not only the passing game but in the run game as well.
Coming after a tough divisional loss like the Lions just did, OC Ben Johnson will need to look to find ways to provide this offense with a spark that they were missing in Week 14. Williams has all the tools and capabilities to fill this spot they’re looking for.
He’s by no means a sure-fire starter for the fantasy playoffs, but he is well worth a buy-low add as his talent and playing time can easily propel him into fantasy relevancy.
