ANALYSIS: James Wood is ready for "The Show,"plain and simple. Wood has been a monstrous, six-foot-seven offensive juggernaut for the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings this season. After a *slow* April where he ONLY hit .318 with two HRs and eight steals, Wood went berserk in May, mashing to the tune of a .394 average, 7 HRs, 22 RBI and a staggering 1.252 OPS in 21 games. Not only is the big man strong, but he's also fast, Wood has ten steals so far this season, he stole 18 last year and 20 in 2022.

There is still plenty of opportunity to buy in on Wood for 2024, he's currently available in 76% of Yahoo leagues and 94% of ESPN leagues. On May 28, the Nationals placed the prized prospect on the 7-day IL with right hamstring tightness. He will be back, but the window is closing, and it will only be a matter of time before he's lighting up the scoreboard in D.C. He has the potential to join the 30 HR/30 SB club as early as next year. He looks to be a future, perennial, All-Star and expects to make an immediate impact once given the chance.
