BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB2
ANALYSIS: Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner returned to the field last week and instantly took back over as the top running back for the Cardinals, carrying the ball 16 times for 73 yards in the team's 25-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Tony Jones Jr. and Keaontay Ingram combined for just three carries.
Looking ahead, the Cardinals just claimed the talented Michael Carter off waivers from the Jets, something that could eventually wind up eating into Conner's touches. However, with Carter joining the team in the middle of the week, don't expect his presence to really matter on Sunday when the Cardinals take on Houston.
That should leave Conner looking at 12-17 touches against the Texans on Sunday. The Texans have been a pretty middle-of-the-road defense when it comes to defending the run, allowing the 14th-most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs this season.
Conner doesn't seem like he's in line for a smash game here, but his volume and his ability to avoid negative plays should make him a solid fantasy RB2 option. Conner's averaged over four yards per carry in every game he's played this season.
