ANALYSIS: Drew Brees has several broken ribs and a collapsed lung. I am no doctor, but that sounds like it could be an issue over the next few weeks or so, and that means that Jameis Winston is going to be taking the wheel for New Orleans in an opportunity to parlay a limited stint as the Saints' starter into a worthwhile contract somewhere for next season. Winston made a split-second showing in the Saints' Week Nine pummeling of the Buccaneers, attempting one pass, which was completed for 12 yards.

After Brees exited the game this past week in a close contest with San Francisco, Winston was called upon to close just like in his college baseball days, and the former Heisman winner completed six passes of ten tries for 63 yards without a touchdown or an interception.

We are all fully aware that Winston is a particularly turnover-prone quarterback, as he led the NFL last year with a horrific total of 30 picks; but he also tossed for some absurd volume in 2019 for the Bucs, amassing 33 touchdown passes and a league-leading 5,109 yards. That style of gun-slinging could net some big numbers for a New Orleans squad that boasts such a wide variety of offensive assets.

If you need help at the quarterback position for any number of reasons in the next few weeks (at least), Jameis Winston could be worth rolling the dice on.
