ANALYSIS: Andy Dalton continues to struggle as the signal caller for the Saints, which is leading to murmurs of a quarterback switch. Jameis Winston isn’t much better at taking care of the ball, but he does offer more downfield passing and the potential for a bigger upside. The veteran quarterback has as many 20.0 fantasy point games as Dalton in less than half of the games played.
The Saints kept Dalton at the helm thanks to his ability to take care of the ball, but he’s turned the ball over six times in the last four games, rendering that reasoning useless. The Saints are scuffling and could want to turn back to explosive plays, which would be great news for Winston.
If you know you have bye weeks on the horizon in Weeks 13 and 14, then securing Winston’s big play ability could be a difference maker getting into the fantasy playoffs.
