BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 20% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The best thing you can have with rookie players is patience. New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk hasn't done much yet, but last week showed us he's now a clear starter on the offense. Polk led all Patriots pass catchers in targets with seven, and caught three passes for 30 yards.
Polk was on the field more than any other receiver. The reason it's hard to add him outside of deeper leagues is that the offense is absolutely terrible. For some reason, maybe to preserve rookie quarterback Drake Maye from getting blasted behind their horrible offensive line, the Patriots are still trotting out Jacoby Brissett.
Jacoby Brissett looks like he had to be peeled off the turf like a Looney Tune. People want Drake Maye for this? pic.twitter.com/QhpIfNeP2Z

Maye is more elusive and athletic than Brissett, and if the Patriots continue their losing slide, the coaches may have no choice but to start Maye in the future. That would be good news for Polk. In deeper leagues, it never hurts to use a roster spot on the potential WR1 of even the worst offenses.
It will probably take the benching of Brissett to make Polk fantasy relevant. That said, if you're on the fence about adding him and Brissett does get benched, he'll become a priority pickup.
