BALLER MOVE: OUT (groin)
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR5
Update: Jalen Guyton is inactive on Sunday due to a groin injury. Avoid in all leagues.
ANALYSIS: Mike Williams, Joshua Palmer, Quentin Johnston, and a brutal knee injury let the world forget about Jalen Guyton. But there was a time in the 2021 season when the speedster was a prominent deep ball threat for Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense.
That changed in Week 3 of the 2022 season when Guyton suffered an ACL tear. Last Sunday was just his second game back and he capped it off with a red zone touchdown, showing more than just speed.
The touchdown wasn't his only production on the day, either. Guyton was on the field for 79% of snaps with Williams and Palmer out of the lineup and saw six targets, catching four of them for 41 yards. He'll be the third receiver for the foreseeable future (essentially until Palmer returns from his own knee injury). Keenan Allen is dealing with a shoulder injury and is questionable for Sunday, but appears to be ready to play. If he doesn't, Guyton moves up in the rankings to the WR3/4 range.
The Packers run defense ranks sixth-worst in the NFL. Conversely, possibly because they can't stop the run, they allow the sixth-fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. The Chargers can rely on Austin Ekeler and Joshua Kelley to win this game if they so choose. It may be wise, considering the Chargers' secondary is far and away the worst pass defense in football. Control the clock and don't give the trio of Green Bay wide receivers more chances to break loose downfield.
