BALLER MOVE: Sit
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4/WR5
ANALYSIS: Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers will be the presumptive lead WR for the Raiders in Week 5 when they face the Denver Broncos. That's the problem (the Denver part, not the lead WR part). The Broncos are a brutal defense for opposing wide receivers in fantasy football this year.
The Mile High City men have allowed just 21.8 PPR fantasy points to opposing WRs this season. That's the third-fewest in the league. Not great, Bob. Broncos CB Patrick Surtain II should shadow Meyers often, and no one's succeeded against him this year. He's been verifiably a lockdown corner so far.
Patrick Surtain II weekly victims list:
🔒 DK Metcalf: 29 yards allowed
🔒 George Pickens: 16 yards allowed
🔒 Mike Evans: 8 yards allowed
🔒 Garrett Wilson: 22 yards allowed pic.twitter.com/TZD9EboLmu— Zack Kelberman (@KelbermanNFL) October 1, 2024
The Raiders offense hasn't been good this year. It is just outside the bottom 10 in total yards. Quarterback Gardner Minshew II isn't a starter on most teams, and hasn't shown great play so far. Denver has allowed just 4.9 yards per pass attempt, tied for the second-lowest in the league.
Meyers has a mountain to climb and no quality equipment to do it with. He shouldn't be in starting lineups unless you're in an extremely deep league.
