Should I Start Jakobi Meyers for Fantasy Football?
Meyers had at least 50 yards and a touchdown in three straight games before putting up his worst totals of the season in Detroit. The former New England Patriot had one 19-yard catch on his only target of the game.
Now, the fifth-year receiver has to adapt to a new head coach, rookie quarterback, and rookie play-caller heading into a Week 9 home game against the New York Giants.
With so many question marks surrounding the Raiders' offense this week and increasing pressure to utilize star wideout Davante Adams, you should keep Meyers on the bench if you can.
He is the WR28 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
Should I Start Jordan Addison for Fantasy Football?
Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison has been on a tear of late. The former USC standout has 23 receptions, 297 yards, and five touchdowns in his last four games.
With quarterback Kirk Cousins lost to a season-ending Achilles injury and rookie Jaren Hall taking over, there are now a lot of question marks surrounding the Vikings' offense. However, Addison is a downfield threat and Hall can sling it if given the chance. The former BYU Cougar regularly completed 30, 40, and 50-yard passes in college and connected on 67 and 68-yard bombs.
While there is potential, Addison's Week 9 fantasy value is entirely dependent on whether or not he and Hall connect on a deep ball. You should start him but his output will be hit or miss.
Addison is the WR34 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
Should I Start DeVonta Smith for Fantasy Football?
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith is coming off his second-best game of the season. The Alabama product hauled in all seven of his targets for 99 yards and a touchdown at Washington in Week 8.
Smith and the Eagles draw a tough matchup in Week 9 with the Dallas Cowboys, who have surrendered an average of 178.6 receiving yards per game this season -- the fourth-lowest total in the league. However, Smith posted a great stat line against the Cowboys last season, hauling in 13 of 17 targets for 157 yards and three touchdowns in two games. He is a talented receiver who should be in your lineup.
Smith is WR12 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
