BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 12% of Yahoo leagues
ANALYSIS: There isn't a much better way for Jakob Junis to have started his season, as he threw seven shutout innings on his way to his first win of the year over the Tigers. He allowed only three hits and one walk, while striking out six — his seventh career strikeout with six or more strikeouts. While it was just one start, it is worth noting that he posted an 11.5 swinging strike percentage and had batters swinging at pitches outside the zone at a 40 percent rate.
The 25-year-old right-hander is poised to take another step forward after his solid debut season last year. Jake Junis was third among Royals starters with a 7.32 K/9 and 19 percent strikeout rate, and was second with a 1.28 WHIP. Junis can be a solid starter in 14-team and deeper leagues, and he could even end up as a decent streaming option in shallower leagues based on the match-up.
