BALLER MOVE: Sit in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4
ANALYSIS: Jahan Dotson was a popular sophomore-year breakout candidate heading into the season. Unfortunately, the former Penn State star has struggled. He is the WR48 for the year, averaging 7.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Yet, the second-year player has been awful outside of three performances.
Dotson has scored double-digit fantasy points in three games this season. Two of those performances came against the Philadelphia Eagles, scoring 10.7 fantasy points in Week 4 and 20.8 (a season-high) in Week 8. The former Penn State star has scored 44.4% of his fantasy points for the year in those two matchups.
While he had four receptions on eight targets for 69 receiving yards, a touchdown, and 14.9 fantasy points two weeks ago against the New England Patriots, the second-year player was awful in Week 10. Dotson had only two targets and scored zero fantasy points against the Seattle Seahawks despite playing 95% of the snaps.
The wide receiver has an appealing matchup against the New York Giants this week. The Giants have given up 34 fantasy points per game to wide receivers, the third-most in the NFL. Last week, they surrendered 435 receiving yards, three touchdowns, and 82.9 fantasy points to the Dallas Cowboys wide receivers.
Despite the appealing matchup, fantasy players likely have a more reliable option on their bench than Dotson.
