Jacoby Brissett (QB, MIA) - Fantasy Football Week 4 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: The last time we saw Tua Tagovailoa grace a football field, back in Week 2, all he could do was completing one of his four passing attempts for 13 yards. He was forced out of the green after that, making way for Jacoby Brissett to hit the ground running, and in a bulky-volume performance, he showed what he's about although ultimately he flopped on the scoring department. That (mostly) stayed the same this weekend, but the all-around production was much better starting in W3 for the first time this season.

Brissett is sitting as the last QB1 of the week as I write this blurb, pending MNF. He reached 19.3 FP yesterday at Las Vegas throwing 49 (!) passes and completing 32 of them for 215 yards. Good thing: no interceptions on such a massive volume of passes. Not-so-good thing: no passing touchdowns either. Fantastic thing: 7 carries for 37 yards and a rushing touchdown. Not-so-fantastic thing: a fumble on the day. Can't have everything, I guess.

Even with the fantasy community and all of its members and GMs knowing about Tua's upcoming absence, Brissett was only rostered in 2% of all Yahoo leagues, which is telling enough of Jacoby's talent/Miami's roster and upside for fantasy contests. Brissett has alternated starting and backup seasons and he's nothing more than a 60-percent passer on an average of 30 attempts per game for some 200 yards, give or take. If you're desperately needy at the QB position and playing in a 2QB league, consider adding Brissett. If not, pass on him even while Tua remains out.
