Analysis: Trust is the glue that holds relationships together, and it is crystal clear that Matty Ice trusts Jacob Tamme. Last year, at the age of 31 in his first year as a Falcon, Tamme averaged 5.4 targets, 3.9 receptions, and 43.8 yards per game through 15 games. To demonstrate Tamme's ceiling: in his top five games last year he averaged 8.8 targets, 6.6 receptions, and 80.8 yards per game. In the Week One match-up against Tampa Bay, Tamme was tied with Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu for the most targets with eight. He led the team in receptions with six, and had 51 yards. Although he didn't have a TD, which are rare for Tamme anyway, he was targeted once in the Tampa Bay 1-10 yard range. Tamme was second on the team in receiving yards behind Julio Jones and third in targets and receptions behind Julio and Devonta Freeman. Freeman already looks like he was a flash in the pan with his 1.8 yards per carry and four catches for 20 yards. Sanu will get targets, but he won't affect Tamme much at all since Sanu's targets will be making up for the loss of Roddy White, the regression of Freeman, and will take attention away from Julio Jones. Don't fret about lack of TD, those chances will come. Trust Jacob Tamme in 12-Team Standard Leagues, and especially PPR. If he is going to see 6-12 targets per game, and it looks like he will, he is one of the safest TE plays in the NFL.
