ANALYSIS: Fantasy owners stuck deciding between waiver options at the catcher position, take notice. J.T. Realmuto is finally starting to warm up. On Sunday, Realmuto smacked his first homer in a 4-for-4 performance against the Giants. With seven hits in his last 11 at-bats, Realmuto is now hitting .271. Realmuto is not a slugger, but he could be the rare catcher to post a 15/10 season. He hit 10 homers last season and stole eight bases, so fantasy owners are expecting a step up from the 25-year-old. He stole 53 bases over four full seasons in the Minors, so the speed is real. He also has all the variables on his side: youth, good health, and abundant playing time. When choosing between catchers, Realmuto may have a higher ceiling than most. While he may not have elite fantasy potential, he could wind up as a top-10 catcher by season's end.
