BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team PPR Leagues
OWNED IN: 1% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Detroit Lions running back J.D. McKissic was the team's most effective running back in Week 7. He had five carries for 29 yards and caught two of his three targets for 31 yards. The team's starting running back Kerryon Johnson (knee) left the game with a knee injury, allowing for more opportunities for both McKissic and rookie Ty Johnson.
McKissic heavily outproduced Ty Johnson on a per-touch basis, despite getting fewer opportunities than the rookie. Ty Johnson received 10 carries but gained just 29 yards. He also added four catches for 28 yards, but his 7.0 yards per reception were less than half of McKissic's 15.5.
Kerryon Johnson's status for Week 8 is up in the air at this point, but McKissic warrants a speculative add in PPR leagues of 12 teams or deeper. The Lions have two extremely favorable matchups coming up against the Giants and Raiders and if Kerryon Johnson is out, then both McKissic and Ty Johnson are going to be in flex consideration and potentially even RB2 consideration in deep leagues. McKissic has flashed more potential than Ty Johnson in his limited touches this year, so he's more worthy of targeting, especially in PPR leagues. Both warrant adds in all leagues of 14 or more teams, but neither are must-adds in leagues of fewer than 12 teams.
