ANALYSIS: He's only eligible as a starting pitcher for the moment, but J.B. Bukauskas just might be the closer in Arizona sooner rather than later. A first-round pick back in 2017, the 24-year-old flamed out as a starter due to injuries and command issues. Those health problems cost him the elite velocity he had at his prospect peak, but his fastball was back into the mid-90s this spring and his changeup remains a devastating pitch with obscene tailing action.
No one in the Diamondbacks bullpen has emerged as an obvious candidate to finish games, which makes Bukauskas immediately relevant to fantasy managers. He's worth a speculative add for anyone chasing saves.
