ANALYSIS: After 20 mediocre starts for Seattle in the 2015 season, J.A. Happ moved to Pittsburgh. In the 11 starts he made for the Pirates, Happ was phenomenal. He produced a 1.85 ERA, a 1.026 WHIP, a 2.19 FIP, 0.4 HR/9, 1.8 BB/9, and 9.8 K/9. This season, Happ has once again made his home in Toronto and has picked up right from where he left off last season at PNC. So far within 19 IP in three games started this season Happ has a 1.89 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, 3.41 FIP, 0.5 HR/9, and 2.4 BB/9, although he has returned to his underwhelming strikeout rate at 5.7 K/9. In 28 starts within the Rogers Centre in Happ's career, he has produced a 3.32 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 8.1 K/9 and has allowed just a .292 OBP from opponents. Happ is by no means a sexy pick-up, and that is evident through his sometimes lackluster K/9. However, Happ is an incredibly safe and reliable pick at the SP position because his fantastic BB/9 combined with his newly found ability to limit the long ball in Toronto makes him a great candidate for ERA, WHIP, and Wins.
