ANALYSIS: I still don't know how the hell the Clippers could steal Zubac from their neighbors in broad daylight. If you don't remember, the Lake Show traded Zubac (along with Mike Beasley) to the Clips in exchange for Mike Muscala... who is now a reserve for the OKC Thunder. LOL.
Zubac is playing below 20 MPG for the Clips, but it's not that he needs much more if you're a GM looking for your daily dose of 10 points and pinpoint-accurate shooting. Zubac is not going to shoot a three-pointer in his life unless he meets Brook Lopez and sees the light, so forget about a floor stretcher. Even then, Zubac has scored 11, 12, 10, 12, and 7 points entering 2021, is grabbing 2.8 RPG, blocking 1.6 BPG, and shooting 85.3% from the floor and 84.5% from the charity striple while getting to it a very palatable 5 times per game.
On a broad view, Zubac's last four games have seen him improve steadily. On a per-minute basis and using DraftKings scoring, Zubac has raised his FP per minute on the court on a per-game basis going from 0.68 to 0.78, 1.36, and 1.43 in the last game of 2020. Even if you're not familiar with the numbers, anything above 1.3 is top-tier level of play--we're talking the likes of Rudy Gobert, Khris Middleton, and Jaylen Brown.
