BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED: 4% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: While Ito Smith has not been as productive as he would like, the truth is that Ito Smith is Atlanta's no. 1 rusher these days in terms of the opportunities he's been handed weekly. Smith has out-performed both Todd Gurley and Brian Hill in carries during the past three weeks combined.
Gurley has played in just an average of 35 percent snaps on offense, Hill in 27%, and Smith in almost 40%. While that hasn't turned into elite performance for Smith (17.5 PPR points, 4.4, and 5.5 in the past three weeks) he has still been able to put on better games than the other two Falcons' rushers. On top of that, Atlanta has nothing to lose/win this season, and both Gurley and Hill will be without a contract entering 2021 so odds are Atlanta keeps trying Smith as their future RB1 at the position.
Smith is used mostly on the ground, although he's caught six of the last eight passes he's been thrown (for just 11 yards). He's carrying the ball around 10 times per game these days and averaging near 50 yards per match. Definitely not a league-winning asset, but a running back seemingly put into the RB1 role for his team to close the year.
Atlanta goes against the 6th-best defense against rushers next (Tampa Bay) but has a good matchup in Championship Week (Kansas City, ranked 18th) for those of you needy at the RB position or playing in deeper leagues.
