Isaiah Stewart is worth considering as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 4 of the 2022-23 NBA season.

ANALYSIS: To some extent, you can kind of understand the concerns. We're talking about Detroit basketball. We're talking about a 6-8 man playing center nightly. We're talking about a super young 21-year-old player. That's all good. What is absolutely unreasonable and drives me mad (for the good if I'm a fantasy GM hunting for bargains) is finding Isaiah Stewart available in more than 70% of all ESPN leagues!
It's been 10 games for Beef Stew leading Detroit's frontcourt and he's been getting an average of 28 MPG on this early-season run. Not only that, but the young stud is putting up nearly 13 PPG to go with almost 10 RPG and 1+ APG. No joke, folks.
Among true big men, this season (exclusively C-eligible, min. 100 MP) Stewart ranks 7th in points per game and 5th in rebounds, and he's one of only 10 such players hitting 1+ 3PM per game on top of everything, not to mention the sub-1.0 TOPG he's currently averaging.
Again, it'd be understandable to find Stewie rostered in something like 50 or 60 percent of leagues because of the things you can see going against him, but to find him rostered in fewer than 30% of leagues is borderline malpractice. Roster and start this man weekly ROS. Don't even hesitate for a minute!
