Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette was a popular sleeper play in Week 5 against the Bears, but a shoulder injury knocked him from the game.

Now, the Panthers prepare to head into a Week 6 game against their NFC South rival Atlanta Falcons.

But will Legette be available for the Panthers's Week 6 game against the Falcons? Is Legette injured? What is the latest Legette injury news?

Xavier Legette Injury Update for Fantasy Football

In Week 4, Legette caught six of his 10 targets for 66 yards and a touchdown. With Adam Thielen on the Injured Reserve, the rookie out of South Carolina looked poised for a huge Week 5 showing against the Bears.

Instead, Legette caught just one pass for eight yards before exiting with a shoulder injury. It was a good spot for Legette, but the injury ended any chance of him delivering a strong game for fantasy managers.

The good news is that Legette is likely going to be back on the field when his Panthers face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6.

When asked about his availability for Week 6, Legette indicated that he would be good to go for the game.

 

Xavier Legette Fantasy Football Outlook

The rookie wide receiver might have gotten hurt in Week 5, but he still played 22 snaps before he was injured and was targeted just once in that span. It wasn't a strong showing for Legette, even before he exited the game due to the shoulder injury.

While he still has upside, he's going to take a major backseat to Diontae Johnson in the pecking order each week. He's a WR3/4 play in Week 6 if he's healthy.

If Legette were to miss the game, surprisingly, Jalen Coker would look poised to step into a larger role. Coker would have some deep-league appeal, but he lacks the upside that a healthy Legette has.
