Former University of Kentucky quarterback Will Levis was projected to be an early-first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but instead, he went undrafted after the first day of selections.

On day two, the Tennessee Titans traded up to the No. 33 pick overall to stop his slide in hopes of finding the franchise QB of the future. Levis won't have to travel far from Lexington to Nashville and he could start sooner than some think.

What Did Will Levis Accomplish At Kentucky?

In his debut season with Kentucky in 2021, Levis posted a 10-3 record, completing 66 percent of his passes for 2,826 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. He added 376 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.

His 2022 statistics regressed as the 24-year-old posted 2,406 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He actually lost 107 rushing yards in 2022 since sacks count as QB rushing yards in college and two rushing touchdowns as the Wildcats went 7-6.

The former Penn State QB who transferred to Kentucky had a mostly successful career and reached solid heights with one of the low-end SEC programs, catapulting him into the first-round discussion.

Is Will Levis A Good Fit For The Titans?

The Titans clearly want to move on from Ryan Tannehill in the near future, so it remains to be seen whether they could cut the veteran signal-caller or if he will be the starter when the 2023 season kicks off. Either way, Levis should be expected to start at some point during his rookie campaign.

That said, the Titans failed to add any significant help at the wide receiver position this offseason. Tennessee was among the worst passing attacks last year with a starting group consisting of Robert Woods, Treylon Burks, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. Now, Woods is gone and the team only added fifth-round tight end Josh Whyle from Cincinnati and seventh-round wide receiver Colton Dowell from University of Tennessee at Martin.

It will be tough for Tannehill to find much fantasy success next year, so it will be even more challenging for the rookie Levis. All signs point toward another year of Derrick Henry being the focal point of the Tennessee offensive attack. Levis may be a solid fantasy asset later in his career, but it's tough to find a path in 2023.
