Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears has dealt with injuries for much of his sophomore campaign, but he did post a few productive weeks late in the 2024 fantasy football season. The Tulane product posted four total touchdowns in Weeks 15 and 16 before suffering yet another injury in Week 17.
Needless to say, it hasn't been the season he or the Titans hoped for, but he's still young and can make an impact in the future.
Is Spears out for the season, or will he play in Week 18? Let's dive in.

Is Tyjae Spears Out For The Season?
Head coach Brian Callahan said Spears' status is uncertain for Week 18 after he was evaluated for a concussion in Week 17's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. If he suffered a concussion, he almost certainly will not play in the season finale against the Houston Texans.
Spears has already missed time with a concussion this season, which is why he is now wearing a Guardian Cap. Ultimately, even if he clears concussion protocol, it would be somewhat surprising if the Titans don't give him the week off. With nothing to play for this week, they'll likely take the cautious approach.

The Titans would lock up at least the No. 2 overall pick with a loss to Houston, so needless to say, they might not be super motivated to risk any of their key players' health.
Tyjae Spears 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook
If Spears has played his last game in 2024, he will finish the season with 84 rushes for 312 yards and four touchdowns to go along with 30 receptions for 224 yards and another score in 12 contests. Spears played second-fiddle to Tony Pollard for much of the season, and his injury misfortune likely held him back from carving out a larger role.

Tennessee's offense is difficult to project for 2025, as the team will likely draft a quarterback in the first round or sign a bridge QB like Derek Carr, Kirk Cousins, or Aaron Rodgers. Spears will surely be on the fantasy football radar, but Pollard is expected back in 2025, so he'll likely continue to be a solid handcuff stash with limited upside as long as Pollard stays healthy.
