Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Tutu Atwell continues to be a big part of the offense with wideout Cooper Kupp (hamstring) on the injured reserve list. After the Rams selected Atwell in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, he has finally gotten his chance to shine.
Atwell has stepped up as the WR2 for the Rams and delivered some notable fantasy performances in the season's first two weeks. As a result, he is currently the WR16 in PPR formats.
So, is Atwell a good fantasy football pickup for Week 3? What did he do in Week 2? Let's dive in.
What Did Tutu Atwell Do In Week 2?
Atwell was a surprise fantasy star in Week 1, totaling six catches for 119 yards. His 17.9 PPR fantasy points were the 15th-most among all wide receivers. The young playmaker also saw eight targets against the Seattle Seahawks to open the year, which was the second most on the team.
If fantasy managers thought Week 1 might have been a fluke for the 23-year-old, Atwell followed it up with another solid fantasy performance in Week 2. He caught seven passes for 77 yards and also rushed once for five yards. The Rams wideout finished with 15.2 PPR fantasy points, good for WR31 on the week.
Atwell continues to be highly utilized by quarterback Matthew Stafford in the passing game. He has seen 17 targets through two weeks with 13 catches for 196 yards.
Is Tutu Atwell A Good Fantasy Football Pickup For Week 3?
As long as Kupp remains out with his hamstring issue, Atwell should be rostered in almost all formats. He has a 19.1% target share while playing 75-plus percent of the Rams' offensive snaps in both games.
Atwell has been extremely productive this season and currently ranks eighth in receiving yards to start the year. He's a player who will continue to see opportunities on offense with Kupp out, and that's why he should be picked up in all 12-plus team leagues for Week 3.
While we don't know what Atwell's role will be when Kupp returns. The young wideout could provide a couple more weeks of worthy production for your fantasy team. However, if you're in a FAAB waiver wire system, I wouldn't spend more than 6-8% of your budget on him.
