Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has seemingly hit a wall in his Year 3 development, as the team has lost four straight games. During that stretch, Lawrence has completed under 61% of his passes for 990 yards, seven touchdowns, and five interceptions.
He's also suffered ankle, head, and shoulder injuries over the last month, which could explain his struggles in December. We have the latest update on his status.
Will Lawrence face the Carolina Panthers in Week 17? What's his fantasy football outlook? Let's examine both questions below.

Trevor Lawrence Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Lawrence (shoulder) suffered an AC joint sprain in his team's Week 16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to head coach Doug Pederson, Lawrence is making progress but his shoulder is still feeling sore two days after the game.
Pederson was noncommittal as to whether Lawrence would be able to practice on Wednesday as the Jags begin preparing to take on the Carolina Panthers in Week 17. With Lawrence's Week 17 status still in question, it could be backup C.J. Beathard under center against Carolina on Sunday.
Fantasy gamers interested in starting Lawrence in the fantasy championship round will want to stay tuned to Jacksonville's practice reports and final injury report this week.
Trevor Lawrence Fantasy Football Outlook
If Lawrence can suit up in Week 17, it'll be against a Panthers' defense that has surrendered the third-fewest fantasy points per game (13.98) to signal-callers in 2023. Carolina struggles to defend the run, so teams are usually able to stick with the ground attack instead of opening up the passing game.
The Panthers have given up just 186.3 passing yards and 1.3 passing touchdowns per contest. Although a healthy Lawrence can post big numbers in any matchup, he's likely to be hobbled if he plays. With Christian Kirk (core) on IR and Zay Jones (knee) battling an injury, it's a tough week to trust Lawrence at such a crucial time in the fantasy season.
All that said, it's best to avoid Lawrence on Sunday if possible. He projects as a midrange QB2. If Beathard starts, he should also be avoided in all non-Superflex and two-QB formats.
