Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence was the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Lawrence had an impressive college career, completing 66.6% of his pass attempts for 10,098 yards and 90 touchdowns in three years at Clemson. He also had 231 rushing attempts for 943 yards and 18 touchdowns in college.
Unfortunately, the former Tiger had an awful rookie season. The former No. 1 overall pick completed only 59.6% of his pass attempts for 3.641 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also led the NFL with 17 interceptions. However, the former Clemson star was much better last year.
Lawrence completed 66.3% of his pass attempts for 4,113 yards and 25 touchdowns. Furthermore, he had only eight interceptions, cutting his interception rate in half from the year before. More importantly, fantasy players had high hopes for the former Tiger this season after the Jaguars added Calvin Ridley.

What Has Trevor Lawrence Accomplished This Season?
The former Clemson star hasn’t had the third-year breakout everyone wanted. Lawrence is the QB15, averaging 14.7 fantasy points per game. He has completed 67.1% of his pass attempts for 1,439 yards and seven touchdowns compared to three interceptions. Lawrence also has 33 rushing attempts for 147 yards this season.
Is Trevor Lawrence Injured Or Healthy?
Unfortunately, the former No. 1 overall pick suffered a knee injury late in the Week 6 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Head coach Doug Pederson says Lawrence is sore but is day-to-day with the injury. However, the Jaguars play Thursday night against the New Orleans Saints, giving the quarterback limited time to get healthy.
Hopefully, Lawrence can play with the short week. However, fantasy players should prepare as if C.J. Beathard will start in Week 7 for the Jaguars.
The top waiver wire replacement option is Sam Howell. The Washington Commanders quarterback had an awful performance in Week 3 against the Buffalo Bills. However, he has played well in the other five contests this season, averaging 266 passing yards and 20 fantasy points per game.
Furthermore, Howell faces the New York Giants in Week 7. They have surrendered 1.6 passing touchdowns and 17.7 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks since Week 1, giving up 16.9 or more fantasy points three times.
