Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard (ankle/illness) finally missed a game in 2024 after plenty of missed practices and "Questionable" designations over the past few months. Since Tennessee has long been eliminated from playoff contention, it's now worth wondering if the former Dallas Cowboy will play another down in 2024.
He's primarily dealt with ankle and foot injuries, and those have landed him on the injury report multiple times. In the past few weeks, his production on the field has dipped markedly, and it's reasonable to speculate that this could be due to his litany of ailments.
So will Pollard play again this season?

Is Tony Pollard Out For The Season?
He's not been declared out, and it's unknown if he'll play in Week 18. One factor that isn't considered often is the incentives players get for hitting certain stat lines. Pollard is likely motivated plenty by all the money he could get -- $500,000 specifically, more than most people make in many years of working.
Tony Pollard has a lot on the line in Week 18:
- 83 rushing yards for 250k
- 2 TDs for an additional 250kPollard is dealing with an ankle injury. But if he plays – he’ll face the Texans #22 run defense…

Jim Wyatt reported on the Titans official website that No. 20 "might" play for the final game of the regular season. The Titans are likely grappling with the issue of protecting him from himself, as he could re-aggravate his injuries yet again.
Tennessee will have to weigh how risky it is sending him out there against possibly preventing him from having a good chance at reaching his incentives. Often, players want to play even through major injury, and are motivated to have good statistical seasons.
That matters in future contracts as well, and players showing that they can string together multiple seasons without much missed time also gives front offices more faith in them when considering signing them. We'll just have to wait and see what happens either way.
