Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard (foot) has been a surprise workhorse RB this season. After an offseason of plenty of evidence that the backfield would be roughly split, much of it coming from the new offensive coaching staff of the team itself, we've mainly seen his backup, Tyjae Spears (hamstring) have minimal impact.
The former Dallas Cowboys player has logged 114 rushing attempts and 21 receptions over seven games, good for 135 total touches or 19.3 touches per game. Doesn't sound much like a player on a committee. Part of this has, of course, been due to the injury to his second-year pro backup back.
But Pollard was added to the team's injury report earlier in the week, so is he hurt or healthy now?

Is Tony Pollard Injured or Playing in Week 9?
He's dealing with a foot issue, and while he's reportedly trending toward playing, he'll need to give his injury some testing to see how it responds before he's fully cleared to go. He hasn't missed a game yet this season and hasn't seen a limited workload in his last four games, so the ailment he's suffering from could have been acquired recently.

Not looking good as he didn’t practice at all this week with a foot injury.
If he can play, he’s not likely anywhere near 100% and I’d expect this to limit explosiveness and see a reduced workload. Even if he plays, consider other options 👇🏻

There's always a chance he could be a surprise inactive. Be sure to check his status sometime between game-time and 90 minutes earlier. The game will start at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday.
Tony Pollard Fantasy Football Injury Outlook
There's a real chance that he will be physically limited by his injury, as was explained by Dr. Tom Christ in the tweet above. In this case, there really are no winners. A split in touches between him and third-stringer Julius Chestnut and a hampered No. 20 would probably make neither of them fantasy viable.

He's been fantastic at gaining yards after contact this season, but his ability to force missed tackles could also be affected by his injury. Expect a lower ceiling if he does take the field, but he's still a solid RB3/FLEX with RB2 upside in a great matchup against a New England Patriots run defense that's allowed plenty of fantasy points to opposing RBs.
