Johnson is expected to play in the preseason, and the team will be eagerly looking to see how he performs. With Darren Waller announcing his retirement, the Giants expect both Daniel Bellinger and Johnson to be valuable contributors this season.
Quarterback Daniel Jones is also healthy and will be ready to play in Week 1. Moreover, with Saquon Barkley's departure, expect the NFC East franchise to throw the ball much more, which will result in higher production from players like Johnson, Bellinger, and rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers.
Theo Johnson Fantasy Football Outlook
Theo Johnson played four years in college before declaring for the draft. In those four years at Penn State, he had 77 receptions for 938 yards and 12 touchdowns in 44 games. In his last year at Penn State, the tight end had seven touchdowns and averaged 10.0 yards per reception.
The Giants get one of the best TEs in the draft in Theo Johnson 🍎

At the 2024 NFL Combine, the Giants rookie was measured at 6-foot-6 and 259 lbs. He had a 40-yard dash time of 4.57 seconds and a vertical jump of 39.5 inches. Johnson's numbers will likely improve in the NFL, and his big frame will make him a big red zone option for the Giants.
He is listed as TE2 on the Giants' depth chart and will see the field quite a lot in his rookie season. Johnson currently has an ADP of 271, and you could easily get him on waivers after the drafts in your respective leagues are done. Expectations should be tempered in Daniel Jones' offense, but Johnson has the physical tools to be a dynamic pass-catcher.
