Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has started games for the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, and Miami Dolphins. In 2023, he could be on the move to join his sixth NFL franchise in the last seven seasons.
Bridgewater is widely considered one of the NFL's top backup quarterbacks, but he can also serve as a bridge quarterback (no pun intended) for a franchise in transition.
Is Bridgewater going to hit the open market this offseason and which teams could be interested in his services? Let's dive in.

Is Teddy Bridgewater a Free Agent in 2023?
Bridgewater signed a one-year $6.5 million deal with the Dolphins to backup Tua Tagovailoa, so he's scheduled to be a free agent this offseason. The 30-year-old signal-caller appeared in five games, starting two of them.
In those five games, he completed 49 of his 79 passing attempts (62 percent) for 683 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions. He went 0-2 in his two starts.
Ultimately, the Dolphins could decide to bring him back on a similar deal since Tagovailoa has suffered numerous injuries in his young career, but Bridgewater was also banged up in 2022, leading to rookie Skylar Thompson drawing a few starts.
Which Team Will Sign Bridgewater?
If Bridgewater isn't brought back by Miami, there are several teams that could be interested in the veteran's services. While it's hard to see him landing a starting role in 2023, there could be a few destinations that would give him a shot.
If the Arizona Cardinals want to bring in a serviceable QB while Kyler Murray recovers from his torn ACL, signing Bridgewater to an inexpensive one-year deal makes a ton of sense. There are also teams like the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans who are sure to draft a quarterback. Bridgewater could serve as a mentor to a rookie and start a few games at the start of the season.
There will be plenty of teams interested in bringing him in as a backup, as he'd be an upgrade to almost every backup QB in the league. Ultimately, his range of destinations are wide, but it's a situation worth monitoring in fantasy football. If he starts even a handful of games, he'll be on the fantasy radar in superflex and two-QB leagues.
