New Orleans Saints "tight end" Taysom Hill (abdomen, ribs) had his best game of the 2024 season. In classic Taysom fashion, he didn't record a reception but rushed six carries for 24 yards while scoring twice on the ground in the Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons. Hill's production profile is unique for tight ends because the Saints use him as a running back and quarterback.
He's one of the more frustrating tight ends to own, but the tight end landscape feels as uninhabited as Jupiter, so the boom games are worth it. In a year where tight ends more often lose people games by doing nothing than win, a player that has a realistic chance of scoring two touchdowns in a game is worth owning in fantasy.
Unfortunately, Hill left the last game early and did not return. Is Taysom Hill hurt or healthy? Will he play in Week 5? Let's dive in.

Taysom Hill Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Hill suffered a rib injury in Week 4 against the Falcons. Hill actually had a previous bruised lung injury, though Saints head coach Dennis Allen stated that the injury isn't related to the previous issue, so Hill did not re-aggravate anything. The new injury is on the opposite side of his chest.
This is a new injury for Taysom. Dennis Allen said it was his ribs on the other side. Thats quite an accumulation of injuries piling up for him.

Hill's timetable to return is unclear. The severity of the injury hasn't been expounded on by the Saints' staff, but fantasy managers should, as always, be prepared for Taysom to miss some time.
Taysom managers should also stay updated on new details that emerge from Hill's injury, though waiting for definitive news to implement a backup plan isn't a great idea. We may not know Hill's status for his Week 5 game until very close to game time.
Taysom Hill Fantasy Football Outlook
Hill isn't having his best season, but he proved he can still play at the age of 34. The veteran's ability to score rushing touchdowns is unique at the tight end position and gives him nice upside. Managers would like for him to be involved in the passing game more, though.
His lack of receptions gives him a low floor (though the floor for most tight ends seems to be zero this year). He also hasn't attempted a single pass, which has been a non-insignificant part of his game in the past. Hill is less valuable than he was in previous years. The rushing touchdown upside is nice, though.
Hill should be rostered in most leagues and is a good starting option for deeper leagues but lacks tight end premium PPR upside since he doesn't catch passes. If you start him you hope for rushing touchdowns. Aside from those, he hasn't been producing much this year.
