When the Denver Broncos traded for quarterback Russell Wilson from the Seahawks this offseason, they expected him to take their offense to the next level and contend for the AFC West.
The results have not been what they were hoping for. The Broncos are sitting at 2-3 and are averaging just 15.0 points per game. Denver is now coming off of a 12-9 overtime loss to Indianapolis in which the offense repeatedly faltered.
Shortly before that game, reports came out that Wilson was dealing with an issue with his throwing shoulder. This ailment remains a concern heading into Week 6. Will Wilson be playing this week?

Russell Wilson Injury News
Last week on Monday, it was reported that Wilson injured his right shoulder in Denver's Week 4 loss to Las Vegas, causing soreness.
#Broncos QB Russell Wilson "dinged up" his shoulder in Sunday's loss to the #Raiders and is sore today, according to coach Nathaniel Hackett. Wilson is listed as limited on the estimated participation report. Denver faces the #Colts on Thursday night.

That Friday, the day after the Broncos fell to the Colts, Wilson traveled to Los Angeles to get an injection in his shoulder. The goal was to ease discomfort and allow him to continue playing through a strained latissimus dorsi.
Sources say Russell Wilson has been dealing with a strained latissimus dorsi -- an injury more commonly seen in baseball players, and one that is not usually treated with an injection. Wilson intends to play through it and be ready for next Monday night against the #Chargers. https://t.co/4th07EMyfG

Wilson intended to play this upcoming Monday against the Chargers. Is that still the plan, or has the situation changed?

Indeed, on Friday he was a full participant in practice, and on Saturday it was reported that he was throwing "without issue."

Wilson is set to play on Monday night. Every successive update about his health has gotten more positive. If he is somehow inactivated for the contest, backup Brett Rypien would be forced into action; nothing suggests that will become necessary, though.
Wilson and the Broncos will take on a Chargers defense that has surrendered the 14th-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this year. For Denver to pull out a victory, Wilson will need to improve his play. He has tossed just four touchdown passes through five games this season, and he has scored 13+ fantasy points just twice.
Fantasy managers with Wilson rostered should not be worried about his health. Rather, they should be concerned with the quality of his play.
