Robert Woods Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods is no stranger to being banged up. While he's played all six games this season and all 17 games last year, Woods has played fewer than the full season six times during his career.
While Woods was on the injury report with a foot injury, it's unclear how serious that is. There was speculation that this could just be a veteran rest day for Woods, something that has happened in the past.
Unless we hear otherwise, fantasy managers should expect to see Robert Woods on the field on Sunday when the Texans take on the Carolina Panthers. That game will feature a matchup of the top two quarterbacks from the 2023 NFL Draft.
Robert Woods Fantasy Football Outlook
Robert Woods is a talented veteran wide receiver, but he hasn't had a lot of great fantasy performances in 2023, especially as the season has gone along.
Woods was targeted 19 times over the course of the season's first two games, catching 12 passes. But with the emergence of rookie Tank Dell, Woods saw a reduction in his numbers after that. He has just 10 total receptions over the last four games, and last time out he caught just one pass. It's worth noting that pass was a six-yard touchdown, though.
Woods doesn't have much fantasy value at this point. He's not a top 75 play at wide receiver this week and should not be started in the vast majority of fantasy leagues. The fact that Tank Dell, who missed Week 6 with a concussion, is expected to play just further hurts Woods' fantasy value.
